Job Description

Second Nature is seeking applicants for a Climate Programs Internship that may focus on the following tasks: 

  • Analyze data on member institutions’ participation and impact
  • Database management and data entry
  • Support Climate Programs staff in the implementation of Second Nature programs and events, including the Climate Leadership Summit 
  • Research and administrative support of projects related to Second Nature’s core programs including the Climate Leadership Network and University Climate Change Coalition (UC3).
  • Support creating and writing resources on climate action topics (i.e. decarbonization, climate resilience, climate justice/equity, policy/advocacy, etc.)
  • Other tasks as assigned

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Knowledge of basic office and database functions/programs
  • Excellent skills in research, communication, and attention to detail
  • Broad understanding of climate, sustainability, resilience, and equity issues
  • Ability to support the program management of the Climate Leadership Network by contributing insights and creative ideas

 

Outstanding candidates may possess some of the following:

  • Experience with Salesforce and other database/customer management software
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Intermediate reporting/data analysis capabilities
  • Experience with Google Suite
  • Passion for and experience with supporting sustainability and climate leadership initiatives at under-resourced institutions.

Pay and Benefits

  • Job Classification
    • This is a paid internship, with a rate of $15/hr and no benefits. 
    • This position is fully remote and requires a commitment of 15-20 hours/week. A majority of these hours must overlap with Second Nature’s standard work hours of 10:00AM - 3:00PM, Monday - Thursday. 
    • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Second Nature offers a dynamic and creative work environment with a customized experience for each intern designed to be challenging and to build desired skill sets. Interns are involved in team meetings and planning efforts. 
  • The internship is for a period of 6 months, with the possibility to extend the contract.
